Varieties

Two exotic varieties viz EC-68413 and EC-68415 are available and both of them can be grown successfully in the State. It has been found that variety EC-68413 is more suitable for growing in summer while EC-68415 is good as a spring crop.

Agronomic Practices
The crop requires a cool climate during germination and seedling growth. Seedlings tolerate frost moderately well untill they reach four to six leaf stages of development. It requires warmer weather from the seedling stage to flowering stage and warm and sunny days during flowering to maturity.
