Control
Leaf eating caterlillar : This caterpillar causes serious damage by feeding on the foliage. Whole of the leaf is eaten up except the veins. The attack starts from the last week of July and after continues till August end. 1. Destroy the yellow egg masses andcaterpillars feeding gregariously
2. Spray 750 ml malathion (Cythion 50 EC) in750 L water/ha. The spray can be repeated750 L water/ha.an interval of 10-15 days.
Caution : The harvesting should be done only
after an interval of seven days.
Flea beetle : The adults cut regular holes on the leaf surface. The attack starts in the middle of July and continues till the middle of August. Spray 750 ml malthion (Cythion 50 EC) in 750 L water/ha. If the pest again appears, the secondspray be done after an interval of 15 days. The harvesting should be done only after an interval
of 7-10 days.
